Farrier and Life Experiences
FRED H. CLONINGER

Methods are many, Principles are few,
Methods always change, Principles never do.
What is in my heart is in my hand,
your horses heart is in my hand.

Welcome!

You have reached my website.  I am glad you are here.  As you can probably already tell I am a farrier, and have been at it for 28 years now!  I live and work in Charlotte, NC area mainly to the west and south.

For those that know me please look around and call me if you like something or want to see more.  For those that dont , I am a Christian, father, son, man, friend, and farrier.  I like who I am, what I do, and the people I work for.  My work has been between NC and SC shoeing horses and for the past few years working with the Healthy-Stride principles of Jim Crew.  This has shown me how to help horses beyond anything I have learned in my previous schooling and experience.  It has taken me away from just shoeing the feet to improving the overall movement and ability of horses.  For this I thank Jim Crew, Brandon Crew, and LeeAnn Walsh for their help, guidance, friendship, and expanded knowledge.

The Dash Poem

by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke of the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard;
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

Servicing the following area by appointment only.

This reflects the general area that my travels take me.

Since beginning Healthy-Stride my business is changing.  The area that I service has evolved to new towns as I seek out horse owners willing to open theirs minds to principles that will improve their horses abilities and soundness.

The Nail

The nail is a symbol. The importance isn't just the

nail, but the marks left by the nail on Jesus Christ's hands

and feet. The marks are the only man made thing that

are in heaven.

Ronald Reagan who I consider my hero and respect deeply said in a national address.
